In the last couple of weeks I was interviewed twice! Once for Offline Hero’s Method members (about 15 minutes) and once for XSitePro Club members (about 90 minutes). In the OHM interview I shared my system for acquiring local customers. In the XSitePro interview I shared all kinds of tips for XSitePro users, plus a bit about my own background and why I have such an affinity for XSitePro. For any of you wanting to do what I do, this interview will open your eyes, I think.
I was rather nervous, but both interviewers were great and the time flew by. I thought the 90 minute interview would be really daunting, but it was a breeze really. I’m not sure when they will be available, probably in a few weeks, but you need to be a member of OHM and/or the XSitePro Club to get access to them. The interviews happened a few days apart, but they’re not related in any way; the timing was just coincidence.
Also I just launched XSiteProTemplates.com. I only have three templates up there as of today, but I’ll be adding more, of course. Expect my unique design style, not something regurgitated from Artisteer or something like that. I do use other Web sites and templates as inspiration and often try to reproduce them in XSitePro, but the end results always reflect my very own style of doing things. As I was explaining to a client recently, adding gratuitous gewgaws (bits of unnecessary decoration) to your design only satisfies you as the designer; it does nothing for the visitor’s experience and even less to convert them to a paying customer. Keep it simple!

Hi Andrea,
Does xsitepro club goes into great detail about designing professional style websites? such as what you have on your site. I’m looking to building websites for others and I need help in the creativity department.
Joseph
For some reason I didn’t get an email when you posted this, so I’m way behind in replying! The XSitePro Club isn’t a training site for Web design, although there are some resources that will be helpful. Their Complete Guide to Web Building training courses (30+ hours of videos) for $197 is a steal, though. Another way to learn how to design professional sites is to deconstruct ones you like and try to recreate them in XSitePro. Plus, you could watch training videos on Web design from http://www.lynda.com and other places on the Web. The concept of design is the same, regardless of the tool.
Hi Andrea,
I like the new template sites you have! Thanks for the info on the interviews and how to access them. I do think it would be a great idea for you to record your thoughts and have them as podcasts on your blog.
Looking forward to reading more from you!
Hi, Don,
XSitePro Club is a paid membership site for $30/month: http://xsiteproclub.com
Offline Hero’s Method is also a paid membership site for a $547 one-time payment: http://offlineherosmethod.com/caroinvite.php
I will probably get access to my interviews after a few months (6 months for the XSitePro one for sure).
Maybe I’ll just record myself talking for an hour or something and put it on my Web site. Keep at me, Don, and I’ll actually do this!
Andrea…
How do I sign up for the XSite Pro Club? I don’t want to miss your interviews
Thanks for all you do
