These lovely steaks were on sale at Safeway. I air-fried them and they were so tender and delicious! I also made some parsnip fries in the air fryer. They were amazing! The parsnips are not particularly low carb, but they are just fine for someone on maintenance.
A delicious Instant Pot meal. Simple, quick and easy! Sauerkraut, onions, garlic, bay leaf, salt and pepper, a cup of water and chunks of sausage. Pressure cook for 15 minutes (add 10 minutes natural release). I used this recipe. Here’s another similar dish. Note: I used only 1/2 tsp of salt.
A lovely steak that was on sale at Safeway. I paired it with roasted cauliflower and rutabaga (swede) and a few baby tomatoes. Simple and easy! I used the air fryer for the roasted veggies and the steak (not at the same time).
Pork chops done in the air fryer are really nice. I also roasted some cauliflower in the air fryer using the same seasoning as I used on the pork chops, and cut up some baby tomatoes to add some colour.
Honestly, there’s almost no reason to buy meat at full price. Safeway always has meat on sale here in the Vancouver area. Freeze meat that is at its due date immediately and use it at your leisure. I will divide the ground beef into smaller packages and freeze them. I will probably cook the pork…
I keep a can or two of luncheon meat in my cupboard for “emergency” salads! It tends to be very mild-tasting, so I usually add some flavourful ingredients to the salad, like olives, salsa mayo, red onion, etc.
First winter salad of the season… even though it’s not winter just yet! This photo shows the salad undressed so you can see the individual ingredients. Once dressed everything will turn pink from the cooked red cabbage and the salsa mayo salad dressing. Why do I categorize this as a winter salad? Just because of…
Thus is a delicious low-carb meal. I made a double batch of low-carb German Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage which I paired with my favourite English Banger Sausages from Save-on-Foods in the Vancouver area. Note: I made this recipe low carb by substituting allulose for the sugar. I used 2/3 of a cup of allulose…
Boerewors (South African Beef and Pork Sausage) cooked in the air fryer and accompanied by a bagged salad (Southwestern style). The salad is not particularly low carb, but I’m okay with that occasionally.
Crispy air-fried chicken legs and a side salad of kale with citrus dressing, topped with goat cheese crumbles. An amazing low-carb meal!
